August '08 updates...

Here's the newest addition to our family...a stray who kept showing up in our yard and we decided to take in. We've named her, 'Lilo', which means 'lost' in Hawaiian. She's a good dog and Devin loves her!

Here are a few pics from our camping trip to Southpoint--the southernmost point of the United States. We went with a group of friends and there were plenty of kids for Devin to play with.

My friend/co-worker, Beth, got married on August 8. Here are some pics of Devin & I and the beautiful scenery at her wedding...

These are our pictures from camping at Makalavena Beach on the west side of the island. While sitting at our campsite one morning we saw a pod of dophins coming toward us into the bay. Jer threw on his mask, snorkel, fins, and underwater camera and got some awesome pictures while swimming with the dolphins...I was not quite fast enough and very jealous! :)

Devin's first day of preschool was August 4th. She did great on her first day and loves school! She's making lots of new friends and learning all kinds of new things. Here are a couple pictures of her on her first day...

July 2008 update...

Hello!
Well, not too much to talk about in July. It was a busy month that flew by! Between the Fourth of July, all the birthdays (Zach, Gramma Brenda, Romeo, Devin, & Mommy) to celebrate, the preschool orientation visits and preparation it was crazy!
Devin had a great 'My Little Pony' 4th Birthday party with her friends. Her favorite part was swimming in the pool!
Devin also had two preschool orientation visits in July-one with daddy and one with mommy. She got to meet her teacher, observe the classroom, take part in their activities, and eat lunch with them. She's really excited about preschool and being around more kids her own age (she's the oldest at daycare). However, she thought all her daycare friends would be going with her! She was a little upset to find out they would be staying at Auntie Lynnanne's (daycare). Yesterday, August 1st (also Gramma Mae's 92nd birthday!) was her last day at daycare, and it was an emotional one for all involved! Devin was very sad to be leaving Auntie Lynnanne and all her friends there, and they were sad to see her go. We all reassured each other that we will keep in touch, though! Devin will start preschool on Monday, August 4th (also Aunt Lauri's birthday!). I'm sure we'll have more pictures to post of that special day!
