News From Hawaii...

Hello everyone!

Well, we've made it to Hawaii and have gotten pretty well settled. We fianlly got e-mail set up and wanted to set up a website to share news and pictures with everyone to help us keep in touch. We spent our first week exploring beaches up and down our side of the island. We found some really beautiful and hard to get to ones that we love, with black and green sand. We also spent that week just getting settled in our one bedroom apartment that we're staying in for now (it small, but cozy) and getting to know the town. The next week we got back to the real world a little bit...Jeremy started looking for a job, I started looking for daycare for Devin, and we started looking at houses, but we still found time to play in the pool! I started orientation for my job on Thursday, March 15. That same day Jeremy and Devin headed to Honolulu to visit Jeremy's friend Dameon, his wife Nicole, two little girls Lexis and Keyah, Dameon's sister Tyia, and her two boys Darian and Zavier. They had fun playing on the white sand beaches there. They got back on Sunday, March 19. I oficially started my job on Monday, the 20th. I'm now back in the working world and we just found daycare for Devin, so now it's time for Jeremy to find a job...something I'm not sure he's looking forward to. Overall, we're doing great...just getting used to everything here. Our side of the island is not as touristy as the other. It's mostly local people, not a small town, but definitely not big. Things are just more laid-back and slower here, which is sometimes nice, but has taken some getting used to. Our side is also not what everyone usually thinks of when they think of Hawaii...it's not the big, open, white sand beaches. Our side is more black sand or rocky, but beautiful. It's much more rural here. There are lots of forest reserve areas and volcanoes. We really like it. So, that's a quick overview on what's going on with us. We look forward to hearing how all of you are doing. We'll try to keep you updated with news and pictures. We love and miss you all!!!

Hi Kelli, jermey and Devin - the pictures are great, but I was wondering if Kelli was really there. Nice of you to take a picture of her too Jeremy. thanks for the explanation on the sand = not at all like the travel agency brochures. Very beautiful, though. Glad you are somewhat settled and made it there safely. Will keep in touch. Not so jealous today, since it is 67 in Mn - not bad huh? Love you. Aunt Donna
